My Marina in Ekincik Limani Bay was our choice as a base to do a Daylan River cruise. It is situated south of Marmaris and close to Dalyan on the south-western coast of Turkey.

We left Marmaris at 6am in flat conditions for Ekincik Limani Bay. Although we have been to Dalyan 25 years ago, we are dying to visit the Dalyan River again, Turtle beach, the magnificent Rock Tombs and the ruins of ancient Caunos too.
Ekincik Bay is a very impressive big natural bay that provides excellent shelter for yachts. The absolutely stunning little marina called “My Marina” was more than a surprise to me. Although Johann knew about it, it still knocked us over! I have never seen anything so pristine and beautiful. The whole setup is eco-friendly which results in a marina with water so clear and beautiful that the swimming areas is actually in the marina and just on the side of it in a big beautiful deep natural seawater pool with steps leading into it. You can see the bottom of the marina with fish swimming around the boat and not a trace of oil, scum or debris floating around!
On our arrival, the friendly docking staff met us outside to guide us in and helped us moor. It was all done so professionally and easy. We docked right in front of an impressive man-made ruins at our doorstep and the enticing swimming area 5 steps away!

Johann could not wait to clean his boat, but only a clean water wash (with no detergent whatsoever – green or not green) was allowed for good reasons! … Clear pristine water in the marina resulted from this strict policy. The electricity hubs, water taps, wheelie bins as well as the fire hydrants are all covered with hessian bags to blend in with the wonderful rustic nature of the environment of the marina. It is a totally plastic free place with a great design of “ruins” and scattered anchors and other interesting features to make it blend in with the lovely stone walls and natural surroundings. It is all so neat and beautiful with lush plants and big trees disguising the restaurant on the slopes of the hill. The stunning backdrop of the beautiful mountain with its big olive and pine trees and the clear blue water surrounding the boutique marina makes a perfect shelter for any size yacht and a perfect stop-over to join a Daylan River cruise.
The restaurant at My Marina is absolutely fabulous! The service is of the highest standards and so is the food. The view is breath taking and all in all it is a great gastronomic experience in a wonderful characterful restaurant. The restaurant is known for its array of wonderful fresh fish and seafood and very good wine! Although not cheap, it was worth every lira!
It was such an amazing experience that I really hope that we will have enough reason to go that way again one day! Don’t miss My Marina in [mappress mapid=”8″] if you are in that vicinity! It is very special!
